Welp, the 2007 Auto Show season is going to be starting soon. USAToday’s Auto Section has a nice gallery of cars taken from various 2006 Auto Shows. There are some mighty nice cars to drool over:

As usual I will not be going to the Detroit Auto Show this year. It honestly bores me to death… Now, the New York, Los Angeles, or even the Paris auto shows I would love to go to.
SEMA is definitely at the top of my list.
Ah, Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino how I love thee. However, I do love the gift card that purchases you even more!
Venti Venti Venti!
No whip, dammit!
Okay, first some geeky news. I got my treo 700p to work as a high speed modem via my Verizon EVDO connection for my laptop. I have a very nice wireless LAN connection and a regular ethernet connection at home, but I feel the need to utilize my cell-phone’s data plan in order to get my money’s worth out of my data plan. Plus, it is just so cool to be able to do this!
Now I can go to Starbucks and get my Green Tea frappuccino and enjoy it at the store. I like the height of the tables at the Starbocks by me (which I assume is the same at all Starbuck’s stores) when I am working on my laptop. However, I thought I’d go there and do some work a few weeks ago and but didn’t know the internet connection wasn’t free. Silly me!
On to more serious news items. So, you probably heard that the column they erected yesterday as the first piece of the Freedom Tower in NYC had the American Flag facing the wrong way. It was correct when they had the column horizontal and laying on the ground. However, when the raised it into the vertical position, the stars were on the right side, instead of the left side. That in itself is not what got me to post this blog entry — this blurb from cnn.com is:
“But the stars and stripes should be in the right place until then, said Joan Bury, 71, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, who said she found the wrong-way flag “disgraceful” when she saw it in her morning newspaper.”
Look, I’m all for country pride and flag pride, but give me a break?? Disgraceful?!?! I’d sure love to hear the choice words she would use for what is on TV nowadays, in the movie theaters, on the radio, and even her comments on thongs.
I bet she threw her newspaper down and called her congressperson.
So, normally when something national happens that could potentially be perceived as a terrorist attack, the news articles reporting the issue will have someone stating, “This is not a terrorist issue.”
Well, we keep seeing an increase in reports of cruise ships needing to be disinfected due to folks falling ill from a virus and also of produce causing folks to get sick at various restaurants or pre-packaged from grocery store. The most recent incident involves over 300 folks who ate at an Olive Garden in Indianapolis, IN.
I have yet to see anyone deny that this is not being investigated as a terrorist attack. I find that quite a bit interesting.
So, there is an article on CNNMoney.com about a family who lives in Nebrasks (yeah, super high cost of living in Nebraska) that took a “huge” pay-cut after the husband got laid off from his job and now the family is scraping by paycheck-to-paycheck on the wife’s $150,000/year salary as a hospital psychiatrist.
The husband was earning a base pay of $82,000 a year, plus commissions as high as $24,000.
Scraping by? WTF are they spending their money on?
Says Amy, “We live from one paycheck to the next, we’re struggling to save and we never seem to have enough money to do anything fun.”
Again, WTF are they spending their money on?
“The Schuett kids gave up ballet lessons and gymnastics.”
Once again, WTF are they spending their money on? Oh yeah, and that’s great, make the kids give up cultural activities.
“They’ve even considered giving up their unlisted phone number. At a cost of $3 a month.”
Ah, we found the money drain! NOT!
I seriously want to meet these morons because this is just flabbergasting.
It seems that Q4 of 2006 is not a good time to be a stand-up comic. First we have the Michael Richards issue, then Andy Dick (who I am pretty sure was just trying to make fun of Michael Richards in his Andy Dick way), and now Pauly Shore getting knocked out by an audience member during a routine.
I can’t decide if I feel sorry for Pauly or should laugh.
Okay, so Lindsey Lohan has been actiing for a while. And, despite the fact that she has definitely boarded the loopy bus this year, she did do some decent films.
Just saw Mean Girls and I have to say I was entertained. And, I actually would not have been pissed off had I seen it at the theater.
