Ads: Annoying ads – Tanqueray, Red Stripe Beer, & Starbucks

I unfortunately saw three of the most annoying advertisements in a row (to me, at least, and well, that is all that counts in my world) on TV just now. TV must be trying to tortue me, or at least telling me to turn it off and go to bed…

Annoying ad #1: Tanqueray ads with Tony Sinclair.

First off, the scenarios in the commercials are just plain stupid, and Tony Sinclair comes across as a pompous dork. His accent is what annoys me the most about him. Well, that in conjunction with his smarmy, “I am a party god” aura.

Annoying ad #2: Red Stripe Beer

These are the ads where the short dude screams out, “Boo . YAAAY BEER!” Everytime I see those ads I have a near turrets moment where I want to scream back, “Shut the F*** UP!”

Annoying ad #3: Starbucks frappuccino in a bottle

This is the ad with the folks singing/dancing in a musical style while being in different life scenarios (such as at the subway station) a non-rhyming song that ends with, “I can’t get enough of this wonderful stuff.” LAME!!!! With all the money that Starbucks has, couldn’t they come up with a better commercial?

I can’t believe those commercials got through the target test groups while they were being developed. Maybe they selected these versions because they got the most, “I find this commercial to be really annoying but I can’t seem to forget about it” comments.

Probably the same marketing ploy for those creepy Burger King commercials…

Ads: Febreeze to replace the washer and dryer?

Okay, Febreeze is summarized on their website as, “Fabric refreshener and odor remover.” However, the way their commercials are created, you would think you could get rid of your washer and dryer and replace them with Febreeze. Their most recent commercial shows a mom picking up her son’s clothes off the floor. She sniffs it and it of course smells horrible. Instead of throwing it in the laundry hamper, she spritz’s it with Frebreeze and all is good with that piece of clothing and ready to hang in the closet. But wait! She opens the closet door and a huge pile of dirty laundry falls out and onto the floor. Washer and dryer? HAHA – those are for wimps! Frebreeze to the rescue!

Gross.

Ads: Fedex ad with Denny Hamlin driving a lawn mower

The Fedex ad with Denny Hamlin (NASCAR driver) driving a lawn mower and starts bump drafting his neighbor’s lawn mower is one of the funniest ads I have ever seen.

Ads: Burger King commercials

Okay okay, I know I already said something about Burger King commercials, but unfortunately they seem to play them at every commercial break so I am innundated with that crap.

The newest “Cheesy” ones with Dr. Anus.. errr… Angus are completely annoying. I can’t even hit the change channel button fast enough when one starts to play.

Maybe I am too old (I am in my early thirties) and am not the target audience for those commercials.
